Why do you do this? What’s your motivation?
I often get asked those two questions simultaneously from people wondering why I left the corporate world six years ago to start this nonprofit, dedicated solely to fighting child hunger.
My answer is pretty simple: I saw kids who didn’t have enough food on weekends, hungry, and not able to perform at school, and I had a way to fix it.
But sadly, weekends aren’t the only times that children are facing hunger. They also lack access to nutritious food in the summer. Studies show that Minnesota children miss nine million meals during summer break.
How could we not try to fill that gap, too? Donate today to fill the summer food gap.
This June, we will embark on our biggest effort yet to fill the Summer Food Gap, with plans to distribute over 100,000 meals to the children in our community. We’re working with multiple school districts and areas throughout the state to make it happen.
Will you join us in helping fill the Summer Food Gap by making a donation towards our program? Your tax-deductible gift today will help ensure children have access to the nutritious food that they so desperately need, all summer long.
