Donate food to help with coronavirus response

We welcome food donations, whether you prefer to give physically or digitally, to help with our coronavirus response.

Physical Food Drive

Collect and drop-off non-perishable food items at our warehouse at 2723 Patton Road, Roseville, MN 55113 on Mondays – Thursdays from 10 am – 2 pm. Use the door marked “FOOD DONATIONS” to drop off your items.

NEW! Digital, Contactless Food Drive

An alternative to collecting and dropping off non-perishable food items is a digital, contactless food drive! Since we purchase food from bulk suppliers, we are able to make your dollars stretch further. Your donation is equivalent to the cost of the food items listed and will be utilized to provide food to children in our community.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Why are food donations important to The Sheridan Story?

While financial donations greatly assist us in purchasing food from bulk suppliers, food donated to us decreases our purchasing costs. Coronavirus-related disruptions in our community are making food donations increasingly important in helping us provide food to children facing increased food insecurity.

What is the process like when I bring the food to The Sheridan Story warehouse?

You can drop off food donations any weekday from 10am – 2pm at our warehouse located at 2723 Patton Road, Roseville, MN 55113.

  • When you arrive, go to the door marked “FOOD DONATIONS” and you will be greeted by TSS (The Sheridan Story) staff or volunteer. If you have a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, please do not enter the facility. Please remember to not touch your face, wash hands regularly, maintain 6 feet of separation from others, and sneeze or cough into your elbow.
  • TSS staff or volunteer will weigh your donation and fill out a donation form. You will be receiving an electronic receipt of your donation.
  • You will then sort your donation into the appropriate bins marked with the following labels: (1) Fruit, (2) Vegetable, (3) Entree, (4) Base/Grain, (5) Protein, (6) Pop-top fruit, (7) Pop-top vegetable, (8) Pop-top entree, (9) Snacks, (10) Expired already, and (11) Non-food. TSS staff or volunteers can help with this step.
  • Once items are sorted, your food donation is complete.
Why are you only looking for certain types of food?

We accept all food from food donations, but only use high quality food that retains dignity for our children and families. Learn more about our food here. Any items that we are not able to use will be donated to a local partner food shelf in Minneapolis.

Does The Sheridan Story pick up donated food?

We are currently unable to pick up donated food. If you are able, please drop it off at our warehouse located at 2723 Patton Road, Roseville, MN 55113.

Can I donate produce?

Yes! During the summer, we run a produce program to give fresh produce to local families. You can donate produce from your garden at home, business, or faith community. Your donations will be distributed weekly as early as mid-June and as late as October, depending on the growing season. Drop off produce donations at our warehouse located at 2723 Patton Road, Roseville, MN 55113 on Mondays and Tuesdays from July 6 – September 30, 2020.
